Jennifer Garner, born April 17, 1972, in Houston, Texas, was born within Charleston West Virginia. William John Garner worked as a chemist for Union Carbide. Patricia Ann Garner taught in an institution near to her. In the hopes of following his father's path and earn a degree in chemical engineering. However, because she wanted to follow her dream of becoming an actress, she moved into New York to try her luck in the movies. When she was not appearing in Broadway productions, she also worked as a waitress. She played a minor role in the film "Felicity" (where she first came into contact with Scott Foley). Garner had her breakthrough with her romantic comedic film "13 going on thirty" in which she portrayed the role of a teenage girl trapped within a 30 year-old's body. Garner decided to hire Gary Winick (director) to direct the film. The two searched for new opportunities until Winick passed away in 2011. Garner, who was designated as an ambassador for artists with Save the Children U.S.A. for 2009, played an important role within the organization. Alongside the promotion of early education, literacy as well as nutrition at a national level, Garner's role is also to promote nationwide literacy. Garner has served on the board of trustees since 2014. Garner promotes early childhood learning. She is an ambassador and regularly meets with families who are part of the organization's Early Steps to School Success program, which coaches families on how to help young children develop.
